The applicant will be in charge of developing analysis on archaeological chert collections and geological reference collections using PXRF, LIBS and VNIR reflectance spectroscopy. Fieldwork seasons to constitute the geological reference collections will be done by the researcher, as well as the analysis and report writing on the results. The ideal applicant will have a University Master’s degree in Archaeometry or Archaeosciences and competencies in Physics or Geosciences and Archaeology. Additionally, expertise on the use of XRF and LIBS equipments is required as well as on the use of multivariate statistics for the treatment of the data. We welcome applicants that are highly organized and accurate, as well as critical, empathic, and proactive. They should be able to think “outside the box” work independently and be a part of a positive atmosphere that will nurture their potential and provide motivation challenges.
