We are presently seeking a PhD candidate to support a recently awarded ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award. The candidate will contribute to the advancement of our understanding of spatial patterning through the examination of rock art at Injalak Hill in the Northern Territory of Australia, employing digital archaeology methodologies. The focus of this candidate’s work is to innovate and employ cutting-edge digital techniques to advance rock art research. The project includes the collection of digital data from Injalak Hill utilising cameras, scanners, GNSS receivers, and drones, followed by the application of machine learning algorithms for data analysis. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the remote Indigenous community of Gunbalanya, as well as with fellow archaeologists, remote sensing specialists, and data scientists.
