The Department of Heritage and Antwerp Cultural Heritage Sciences (ARCHES) research group in the Faculty of Design Sciences is looking for a doctoral scholarship holder in the field of digital archaeology. You will work actively on the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis. The PhD project, titled “Modelling space-time uncertainty in archaeological excavation information”, aims to enhance the representation of information related to instances of uncertainty across space and time encountered during archaeological excavations. The project explores how semantically rich graph data models can be useful in this context and investigates how representations of uncertainty encountered during archaeological excavations can be modelled and integrated into existing data models, such as CRMarchaeo.
